Head Markings

Although there are fashions in colours and markings, it is really the shape of the horse, not the colour, that matters. There are also all kinds of superstitions relating to coat colours. In the past if a horse had four whit legs it was thought to be a bad sign. One or two white legs perfectly acceptable. Chestnuts are still thought to be fiery and excitable, and racehorse trainers sometimes dislike black horses because they have a reputation for being bad-tempered
