The worlds oldest and most influential pure bred is the Arab. It
descended, it is believed, from Asiatic wild stock that ran wild in the desert lands of the middle east as long ago as 5000 BC. Some experts claim that this original desert home was in either Persia,
Syria or Egypt. But the majority hold that it was in the Yemen, in the Arabian peninsula. From this origins, the Arabs special features - speed, endurance, fine coat and toughness - developed. The main
reason for the Arabs vast influence is because its equine virtues proved to be proponent, that is they have been transmitted from one generation on to the next.

Today,
Arabs are found all over the world, and their breeding is a flourishing industry. In the Arabs home land, the Middle East, the most celebrated is the Persian - the oldest domesticated Arab - and the
Egyptian, which, like the Polish Arab, is in heavy demand for export. This pre potency developed through the selective inbreeding pursued for centuries by the Bedouin tribesmen.
